Cincinnati Zoo – Elephant Trek
Melink Solar partnered with the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden to install a 165 kW DC rooftop solar array on the new Elephant Trek barn, completed in 2024. This installation underscores the Zoo’s commitment to sustainability as part of its five-acre LEED-certified Elephant Trek habitat. The solar system provides clean, renewable energy to power the facility, aligning with the Zoo’s efforts to protect natural resources and reduce its environmental footprint. Complementing other sustainable features, such as stormwater recycling and water conservation initiatives, this project reinforces the Zoo’s status as “The Greenest Zoo in America®” and its dedication to promoting coexistence and wildlife conservation globally.
